Chopped nutritious green and white vegetables cooked with gram (chana) flour, delicious with rotli or rice. My absolute childhood favourite!
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 White Cabbage (finely chopped)
1 White Radish (peeled and cubed)
2 cups Fresh Methi (roughly chopped)
1 Bell peppers (cubed)
1 bunch Spring onions (sliced)
Green chilies (optional)
2-3 tbs Strained tomatoes (Pomi)
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric
2 tsp Chili powder
Salt to taste
2 tbs Oil
INGREDIENTS for gram flour mix:
1 cup Gram flour (chana ata)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1-2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp
2 tbs Oil
METHOD:
Mix all the ingredients for the gram flour mix and set aside.
In a pan heat oil and put the mustard seeds wait for them to crackle then add all the prepared chopped vegetables, add coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric and salt. Give this a good stir add a little water to cook the vegetables.
When the vegetables are half cooked sprinkle on top the prepared gram flour mix, (do not stir may cause lumps), leave to cook for 5-7 minutes.
Add the tomatoes and stir the shak. Cook for a further 5 minutes.
This shak/curry tastes best pipping hot, serve with rotli or rice.
